Exit 6: Human Resources

Along the road, there will be many people who will assist you on your journey. The people you encounter will be trained to serve you food, pump your gas, or possibly repair your car. All of these people bring a specific set of skills to their job, making your road trip more enjoyable and productive.

Running a SBHC requires trained people who are credentialed, licensed, and experienced in working with the students at the SBHC. In addition, you will need to develop the right policies and procedures, follow standards for hiring, reviewing and terminating personnel, and adhere to local, state, and federal hiring guidelines. Your medical sponsor will provide you with most of the support and details you need for the human resources exit. Exit 6 on the Road Map is designed to provide you with even more specific support such as sample job descriptions that are unique to a SBHC and the model of care they provide for the students. Come back to this exit again, as it is in its first stage of development and although open, will be developed further in the very near future! Safe travels!
