Today’s road trips are light years ahead of the days of sing alongs in the car, road maps flapping in the wind, and stopping at the gas station to get directions. Technology has changed the way we travel.
For the SBHC, technology is changing the way we do business. Before starting up a SBHC, you have to consider more than just where you put the charts and the phone. There are many technology related decisions to make such as hardware and software, the number of telephone lines into the center, t-lines, how to manage the various types of communication, all the while taking into account security and confidentiality. SBHCs are just entering the expressway of the technology boom, and are working hard to keep up.
