Exit 1: Planning and Evaluation: the planning phase of any journey is different for each person that dreams of taking a journey. Each person brings a different knowledge base to the trip.
At this exit, there are resources that will help you understand: the basics about SBHCs; collaboration and community engagement; funding and resources; needs assessment; and evaluation. In addition, there are NASBHC and sample SBHC policies and procedures about planning and evaluation available at this exit.
The materials will help you plan your trip by providing you with: presentations on school-based health care; information on the link between SBHCs and academic success; support for and ideas to bring people to the table and engage the community in this process; ways to fund the process and the SBHC; how to assess the needs and determine the model; and how to evaluate the process and the outcomes of your journey.
